Cinnabar Red … Cornered by Shapes is my newest work for the Exclamatory Intermezzo series. I painted it at the end of March and continued with the same off-whites colour scheme, which I recently used in my first set of intuitive paintings. To add some contrast, I chose two additional colours; cinnabar red and a dark neutral grey for the geometric shapes.

Last month I got behind my posting schedule as I spent almost three weeks travelling and working in the US and Europe. Even though I really enjoy travelling, these trips left me with only a few days to work on my portfolio. With my first art show this month (Symposium de Peinture), I need to work as much as possible on different styles. This month I had way more time to paint, but I didn’t keep up with posting my studies yet. So stay tuned, as I will post several more in the upcoming weeks.
