A Desert Note

I wrote a stack of postcards in the Marfa desert and mailed them at the Marfa, TX Post Office so they’d carry that place with them. Location and time are core to my practice as the work lives in where and when it’s made.

The Marfa postmark turned each card into a small artifact: a timestamp, a place stamp. That little circle of ink made them feel part of the piece itself.

Now photos are landing in my inbox from all over the world. It’s a joy watching these cards travel, clouds crossing borders and finding their way home.
