The cloud scanner has grown into something worth a version number. After further tweaking of the detection, Sky Scanner 2.0 now recognizes clouds at a much finer granularity. Thin contours trace each cloud’s outline, while hatching fills in and identifies its mass.
I also played with the 3D grid to implement different hatching styles, and the results look quite interesting; the sky starts to read like a technical drawing of itself. Next, I will test the scanner against a few other videos.
