Cumulonimbus Murus, commonly known as a wall cloud, is a meteorological phenomenon that indicates a strong updraft and powerful thunderstorm from which tornadoes can form. The wall cloud represents the fast-growing crypto art movement and is the title of my 45 sq. m (485 sq. ft) in situ installation, which I created for the DYOR – Do Your Own Research group exhibition at the Kunsthalle Zurich. If you are not familiar with the Kunsthallen concept, it refers to art museums that focus on contemporary art exhibitions and do not own a collection. The multi-media installation carefully traced the origins and milestones that informed crypto art and contextualized the movement that catalyzed digital art. It consists of four distinct parts, which I describe in an upcoming blog post.
